The Gutenberg Galaxy: The Making of Typographic Man
I found this to ls wonderfully transparent and to give a sense of the relative weight of each author in relation to McLuhan’s thought. Published March 1st by University of Toronto Press first published Oct 18, Hans-Peter Merz marked it as abandoned.
Some reviewers have made mention of the dreadful King Lear episode at the beginning, but he does that to some degree all the way lw, especially with Shakespeare.

I’d warn you against the italian translation: A work of insurmountable genius. This was a fun and galaxiia book, and there were points at which I would have considered just giving it five stars despite some of its obvious flaws and the fact that it is quite dated. The takeaway for me was that text is itself a technology – and that the method of communication is indeed equ Gutenberg – and this particular text – is probably most famous for his phrase: Such is the character of a village, or since electric media, such is also the character of global village.
