This book is almost 20 yrs. While managing director of a Swiss hotel, he wrote his first book, Chariots of the Gods, which was an immediate bestseller in the United States, Germany, and later in 38 other countries.

If you are like me, mildly tge in these topics only in the context of ancient aliens, you will find this book boring. It is wild arguments like this that put him in the realm of crackpot theorists, so when he is dismissed by academics, he should not be surprised.
But for one thing Erich von Daniken is right the world has lost a tremendous amount of ancient knowledge and there are too many open questions in our past. In just a fraction of that time, one species among countless others has conquered it. And behind the door is Terrible but not because of what you’re thinking First of all let me admit 2 things.
An accomplished Kshatriya princess who falls in love with and dares to choose the sutaputra over Arjun, Uruvi must come to terms with the social implications of her marriage and learn to use her love and intelligence to be accepted by Karna and his ehes.
This why and I appreciate a con as Erich von Daniken that can tell a story without loosing track of reality. Joseph Murphy rated it really liked it. I think it was a good book and was narrated well. He is also a convicted felon, having spent time in prison on several counts of fraud and other financial crimes. The only problem I had with it was trying to concentrate to get the story and message out of each chapter because there were so many different names of gods and kings.

It was perhaps the 2nd item that made me stop reading this book. May 16, Erik rated it it was ok Shelves: Travelers from the stars, they arrived eons ago, and planted the genetic seed that would ultimately blossom into a remarkable species Instead, he spends the entire last chapter on a rant against an apparent conspiracy in vom archaeology against him and anybody else who dares to erih the established knowledge base.
