I’m considering either a MOSFET like a BS or a BJT like a 2SC Which would be lower noise I may be just overlooking it when I look at the datasheet but I don’t see it. That’s the other issue going highside, it’s relatively straight forward to control gate voltage with reference to ground but not so easy with reference to Vcc, not when using an off the shelf driver anyway.

IIS member Warren mentioned this a while back but I didn’t get it at the time. Originally Posted datashdet mswhin63 Another really really cool platform is the PSoc4 platform which as a brilliant IDE that is component based and I believe super easy to develop.

I’ve no experience with how much overhead a USB library takes but I guess we’ll find out soon enough. Originally Posted by Squibcakes. Find all posts by mswhin AndrewJ Watch me post! Also I’ve decided to drive the relays via an I2C port expander.

I prefer Teensy boards using Teensyduino. I will consider this as a possible option after completing this semester. Two choices of write frequency with the Teensy 2. Simply adding 2 doubles takes around instructions.

The key to your request is the following imho: Cant think of the part number at the mo but I’ve used in the past and work well up to 60amps. Originally Posted by redbeard. I also use dallas 1 wire temp probes and the system works quite well with much lower current draw than exposed units. How to measure Current with a Pic.

Are we talking Hz or kHz? The theory is explained pretty well in the datasheet. I guess I’m missing something simple. Actually that’s not quite true, the advantages of lowside vs highside switching were mostly eliminated when I added the driver IC.

The All Things to All People controller. Any floating point operation is very expensive on an Arduino or AVR as they don’t have a floating point arithmetic unit unlike say the CPU in your computer. This part is available from both Mouser and Digikey I believe. Sorry for the long read I am not really interested in the Beaglbone though. I filrtype a vairaible speed contoller that I would like to measure the current load on the unit.

An incorrect snubber will simply make it worse. However saying that the commercial straps have metal connectors makes me reassess this. Originally Posted by redbeard snip. Datazheet course this is a worst case fix and probably not generally necessary, but, some users do use RCA extensions or metal shield connectors, they will find out the hard way.
